Hosting a hotspot is easy! There are 3 easy steps:

1. Get a compatible router. Usually this will be a router running the WiFi-K9 version of the firmware OpenWRT. Firmware is the operating system for a router, like Windows 11 or MacOS is for computers. Luckily, a large variety of off-the-shelf routers can run OpenWRT.
2. Get an internet connection with unlimited bandwidth. WiFi-K9 Hotspots are open to the public, so there is the potential for using a lot of bandwidth. Therefore, make sure your connection does not charge you for the amount of bandwidth used.
3. Register your hotspot. Follow the link below to register your hotspot.
4. Configure your router. Configuring your router is easy if you have a router running WiFi-K9’s custom version of OpenWRT.
